Caipirinha is the classic Brazilian cocktail traditionally made with lime, sugar, and cahcaça.

Simple Syrup
  1. Heat the water in the microwave for 1 minute and add the sugar, stirring to dissolve.

  1. Slice the limes into 8 slices each, using 1/2 lime per drink.
  2. Squeeze slices of lime into each glass and place the squeezed lime pieces into the glass. Use 1/2 of a lime per glass.
  3. Add the simple syrup and stir to combine.
  4. Add the cachaça and ice and either stir or shake in a shaker until well mixed. Serve and enjoy!

Traditional Caipirinha recipes do not make the sugar into a simple syrup but I’ve found that the drink is too grainy. The syrup makes it much smoother and easier to mix.
