Instructions
Meat Layer
  1. Dice the onion into small pieces and add the butter, garlic, and diced onion to a frying pan over medium heat. Sauté until onions are translucent, about 5 minutes.
  2. While the onions are cooking microwave the peas and carrots (if they are steam in a bag) according to the package directions. Also begin the potatoes portion.
  3. Add the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire to the pan with the onions and garlic and cook until the beef is fully cooked (internal temperature of 165F). Add in the peas and carrots and stir to combine.
Potatoes Layer
  1. Wash, peel, and dice the potatoes into 1 inch cubes. Place in a pot of water, bring to a boil and boil for 10 minutes or until tender.
  2. Drain the potatoes, add the salt and onion dip and mash together until smooth and creamy.
  3. Once the meat mixture is fully cooked dump into the bottom of a 13×9 casserole dish, or spoon the mixture into individual ramekins if you’s like to do individual portions. Layer the potato mixture on top.
  4. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and cover the top with cheese and bake for another 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the casserole is warmed through. Serve and enjoy!

*If you aren’t using steam in a bag peas and carrots add them to the pan when you add the ground beef so they have time to thaw and begin to soften.
