Instructions
Pretzels
  1. Preheat the oven to 425F. In a small bowl or measuring cup mix the warm water, yeast, and sugar together. Let sit for 5 minutes to get the yeast started.
  2. Put the flour and regular salt into a bowl and add the yeast mixture. Mix together (I like to use my hands) to form the dough. It should be slightly moist yet not stick to your hands or the bowl.
  3. Divide into 6 portions and shape into whatever shapes you like. For a pretzel, roll into a long rope about 1/2-1 inch in diameter. Take the right end and drape it a little more than half way down the dough to the left. Repeat with the left end.
  4. Beat the egg and brush it onto the pretzels. Sprinkle with coarse salt, or cinnamon sugar.
  5. Bake at 425 for 15-20 minutes or until the pretzels are light brown. They will rise slightly while baking. Remove from oven and enjoy!
Cheese Sauce
  1. Tear up the 5 slices of American cheese into a small microwave safe bowl. Add the milk and microwave on high for 30 seconds.
  2. Mix the cheese and milk up (at this point it will still be chunky). Continue to microwave and mix at 30 second intervals until the cheese is melty and smooth (should take about 2.5 minutes of microwave time total) Sauce will thicken upon standing.
