Instructions
Sweet Potato Filling
Bring a large pot of water to a boil and preheat the oven to 350F.
Peel the potatoes and dice into small pieces. Add them to the boiling water and boil until soft but not falling apart, about 10 minutes.
Drain and return the potatoes to the pot. Add the brown sugar, butter, and salt and mash the potatoes together until well mixed.
Spread into a 9×9 baking dish.
Brown Sugar Pecan Topping
Add the butter and brown sugar to a small bowl. Combine the butter and sugar by crumbling the two together with your fingers.
Add the pecans and crumble everything together until it is pretty evenly distributed.
Sprinkle the topping evenly over the mashed sweet potatoes.
Bake for 30 minutes, until the topping is slightly crisped and enjoy!
