These sweet honey shortbread bars are a light dessert. The buttery crust combined with the honey and nut topping make for a delicious dessert for only $5 per batch!

These bars were inspired by a cookie we had at a bee farm in Hawaii. The pairing of the crust with the honey is a great combination that will keep you coming back for more!

Instructions
Shortbread Crust
  1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  2. Beat the butter in a large mixing bowl with an electric mixer on medium-high speed for 30 seconds. Add sugar and beat until combined, scraping the sides of the bowl occasionally.
  3. Beat in the flour on low speed until combined. Dough should be crumbly. Press the crust mixture into the bottom of a 13x9 glass baking dish.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes or until the crust is a light golden brown.
Honey Topping
  1. While the crust is baking add the honey and heavy cream to a microwave safe glass measuring cup or mixing bowl. Microwave on high for 30 second intervals until the honey is boiling. Stirring every 30 seconds, about 1.5 minutes total.
  2. Mix the honey and cream together until fully combined. When the crust is done baking pour the honey cream mixture evenly over the crust.
  3. Sprinkle the nuts across the top of the honey mixture and let cool until the honey topping has set. Cut into bars to serve and enjoy!
